ARIZONA WAS THE FIRST STATE IN THE NATION TO ENACT KAYLEIGH’S LAW, WHICH MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR VICTIMS OF CERTAIN CRIMES, SUCH AS SEXUAL ASSAULT OR A DANGEROUS FELONY, TO PETITION THE COURT FOR AN INJUNCTION THAT IS VALID FOR THE DEFENDANT'S NATURAL LIFETIME. A LIFETIME RESTRAINING ORDER OR NATURAL LIFE INJUNCTION PROVIDES ADDITIONAL PROTECTION FROM THEIR ASSAILANT AND DOES NOT EXPIRE, REGARDLESS OF THE TERMS OF THE DEFENDANT'S PROBATION AND OR SEX OFFENDER STATUS.
